Resources: 

A collection of 18,800 books, videos, audio-cassettes, etc. accessible in the library and throughout school using an electronic catalog located on the CHS Library webpage.

College/Career Center... current college catalogs, applications, scholarships, a job bulletin board and frequently staffed by parent volunteers (tel:  624-1821, ext. 218).

Magazine subscriptions (20) and four daily newspapers including the Monterey County Herald, New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, San Jose Mercury News and Wall Street Journal.

Online subscriptions available on campus and at home (with passwords) include: Encyclopaedia Britannica, Proquest Periodicals Database, Opposing Viewpoints, Issues and Controversies, World Almanac, and Historical New York Times.

19 PC-based, networked computer workstations with CD-ROM drives and T-1 access to the Internet as well as Microsoft Office.  All students/staff may save to the school servers or print to a networked library printer.  A scanner is also available.

2 Mac-based video-editing stations with a VCR/monitor and a "media converter" which transfers analog to digital signal and vice versa.

Video dubbing station (two VCRs and monitors).

Video-viewing station with headsets.

Campus-wide video distribution system (cable) originating in library.

Circulating hardware to qualified students and staff include three video cameras (two digital, one analog), heavy-duty tripod, external microphone with 50' cable, four LCD projectors and carts (at-school checkout only), slide projectors, tape recorders, CD & DVD players.

Photocopy machine... copies for classroom assignments are free (thanks to a grant from Padre Parents), copies for non-academic purposes are $0.10 a copy.  Pages can be bound with a plastic binding for $0.25.

The CHS Library may borrow from the MCOE's (Monterey County Office of Education) library of instructional materials.  Delivery and pickup is every Friday at 10:30am.

Circulation Policies

Students may check out up to five titles, generally for a period of two weeks.   Most materials are renewable, upon request.
